Director of Marketing Programs

We are currently seeking a Director of Marketing Programs who will work out of our San Mateo, CA office.


Coupa is a late-stage cloud startup disrupting e-procurement with a suite of financial applications that is changing the way enterprises approach procurement, expense management and invoicing. The company is funded by top-tier VCs and has experienced explosive year-on-year growth. With over 400 customers worldwide, we are looking to expand our team for continued success as we scale the company. You must be able to take the lead in a very fast-paced, sometimes chaotic environment.


We’ve assembled a talented team of marketers and agencies executing lead generation, webinars, SEO, AdWords, events, PR, content syndication and social media campaigns. We need a strategic leader to develop and deliver comprehensive integrated marketing programs leveraging their expertise. You will report to the Vice President of Marketing and support sales teams across the globe.


The ideal candidate will have a broad marketing background, knowledge of the entire marketing mix, and in-depth knowledge and understanding of integrated marketing. You should enjoy thinking differently about marketing and have the ability to shed conventional thinking to take risks, produce results and have fun.


You will need to be a self-starter with a bias to action, possessing outstanding collaboration and organizational skills. Experience in marketing B-to-B enterprise software is a must.



  • Develop and lead execution of integrated marketing campaigns to achieve market awareness, sales pipeline development and sales readiness for enterprise software solutions. Elements of the plan include: webinars, live events, website content/SEO, collateral strategy, content syndication, and advertising.
  • Determine messaging and content strategy for all campaigns, including email messaging, blog editorial calendar, social, event and whitepaper messaging.
  • Help define KPIs for campaigns and report on results.
  • Support our Alliance organization to create joint marketing plans with our key partners to sell our solutions worldwide.
  • Work closely with product marketing to ensure alignment of campaigns with product messaging.
  • Recommend and manage annual marketing programs budget.
  • Minimum 10+ years of marketing experience in the enterprise software industry 
  • Proven ability to lead execution of successful integrated marketing strategies and manage multiple programs across a multitude of channels 
  • Broad-based marketing background preferred i.e. direct/online marketing, channel marketing
  • Must be both strategic and willing to roll up your sleeves and help with program implementation where necessary
  • Consistent and diligent team leader with excellent and effective interpersonal skills 
  • Excellent written and public presentation skills
