New Features, Functionality and Innovation for Every Season

Coupa releases new software every 2-3 months

One of the primary benefits of software-as-a-service business model is the rapid development cycle it affords.

As of the April 2009 release, over 60 new customer feature requests have been productized (over a 12-month period) – how’s that for aligning a company’s development efforts with the needs of its customers?  Traditional premise-based enterprise software companies can’t even come close to matching that level of customer responsiveness in such a short window to time.

“But why?”, you might ask.  With traditional enterprise software applications, significant development resources are dedicated to maintaining old versions of the application, and to supporting multiple platforms, databases and operating systems.  This multiplies the development effort to support new releases, upgrades, testing, migration and even documentation.

Software-as-a-service companies have an advantage

For software-as-a-service companies, these problems do not exist.  All development efforts can be directed toward improving the product and continued innovation.  So in the SaaS world, technology innovation moves lightning fast.

We use this section of the website to showcase just how quickly the Coupa e-Procurement platform has developed and matured – by highlighting key features and enhancements of each product release dating back to May 2008.  Even more release details can be found on the Coupa Help Desk.

Check back to this section frequently – new features and enhancements are released every other month!
