Coupa’s Spring ‘11 release sets a new standard of usability for business software, promising even broader user adoption and success for organizations’ procure-to-pay and expense management initiatives. Featuring a fresh new UI, tasks from requisitioning to approvals, invoice processing to receipt management are now easier than ever. Highlights include:
A New Approach to Enterprise Software
Coupa’s Spring ‘11 release is not about new features (although we have many, just keep reading), it’s about changing the way people buy things in the corporate context. We want to make it easier for users to get what they need and make it easier for management to see results. Why implement a spend management program if you aren’t concerned about savings? With Coupa’s Spring ‘11 release, we have completely realigned our entire company to your savings needs. Read more in a letter from our CEO, Rob Bernshteyn — then watch him speak on how Coupa is shaking up spend management:
Emphasis on User Interface to Drive Adoption
You can’t get 100% of spend under management if no one is using the system. We understand this challenge and Coupa’s Spring ‘11 release puts the user experience first. Check out what our User Experience designer has to say:
Guide Users to Preferred Content with Coupa’s New Search, Browse & Write Bar
Some people search, some browse. It’s a personal preference, and Coupa’s Spring ’11 release, supports both – making it easier than ever for employees to find what they need fast, and for the procurement organization to guide users to preferred vendors with contract pricing. Self-explanatory? We think so.
From the initial search to the ultimate purchase, Coupa’s Spring ’11 release streamlines the requisitioning process by intelligently selecting billing accounts, shipping addresses, payments terms, remembering your buying preferences, and more.

Always guide users to content from preferred vendors with an integrated search / browse / write experience.

You don't need to log into Coupa to review and approve (or reject) requisitions. Ready to approve? Just do it in the email.
Spend Less Time in the Application, and Go Mobile
Coupa saves you time and effort. With the Spring ’11 release, approvers can review all critical information for any purchase request or reimbursable expense report at the click of a button or the hover of a mouse. Our newly enhanced email notifications provide all the information you need to approve or reject on the spot, without even logging into the application. And let’s face it, your line managers don’t want to log into the application, nor should they need to. With Coupa, they don’t have to. They can see every piece of information they need to make an informed decision, including comments from all reviewers and approvers on the approval chain, right from their email.
Drive Contract Compliance
With expanded contract management functionality in the Spring ’11 release, Coupa automates tedious contract management tasks. Coupa can serve as the central repository for all your contracts so your employees and legal team don’t need to learn new contract authoring tools. Coupa Contracts enables you to:
- Centrally store contracts along with the related SOWs and other related files.
- Track minimum and maximum commitments.
- Match invoices directly against contract terms – no PO needed.
- Define critical alerts for contract expiration and spend thresholds against contract.
Online Supplier Bidding
Coupa’s Spring ’11 release gives suppliers secure online bid-entry to make your RFQ process more robust. When you issue an RFQ to existing or prospective vendors, they’ll receive an email inviting them to bid on your project. Through a direct link, vendors can access a secure bid entry page without registering or paying additional fees.
Coupa Wallet
Coupa’s new wallet automatically imports credit card transaction data, so you can quickly select the transactions you wish to expense and hit “expense it” to populate your report. Not on your credit card? You can still take a picture of your receipt and email it in. Your receipts will be waiting in your Coupa Wallet until you’re ready to drag and drop them into your report. The receipt images are then visible to everyone in the review and approval cycle chain, and even show up when you print the report.
