Former Oracle Executive Dave Stephens to Discuss the New Landscape for Today's Startups
Foster City, Calif. - May 16, 2007 - Coupa Software today announced founder and CEO Dave Stephens will present at TIEcon 2007 in a session titled "Front Line: Software - Competing with the Goliaths." The TIEcon 2007 theme is "The New Face of Entrepreneurship" and will be held at the Santa Clara Convention Center on May 18-19, 2007.
In its fourth year, TIEcon 2007 will explore today's business environment and discuss the big issues facing the industry and entrepreneurs. Keynotes, panel discussions, and case studies will focus on various business ecosystems including networking, semiconductors, software, storage, security, Internet, hospitality, wireless, life sciences, and other emerging areas like clean technology.
Stephens will be part of a panel on May 19 at 4 p.m. discussing how startups today are challenging the Big Three - Oracle, Microsoft, and SAP - in their key markets by innovating both product and business models. Titled "Front Line: Software - Competing with the Goliaths," the session will address how CIOs are again receptive to the idea of buying from startups, factors driving this trend, as well as the importance of open source and its role in making products successful. Other panelists include executives from Greylock Partners, Zimbra, and MuleSource.
