Coupa Recruits Veteran Sales Executive to Expand Rapid Global Growth

Tom Aitchison named Executive Vice President of Global Sales

SAN MATEO, Calif. – March 4, 2014 – Coupa Software, the leading provider of cloud solutions for finance, today announced that former InQuira executive Tom Aitchison has joined the company as the new Executive Vice President of Global Sales, effective immediately. Aitchison, an accomplished sales veteran with a successful track record in managing sales organizations of high-growth companies, will be responsible for expanding Coupa’s rapid global growth.

Aitchison previously served as executive vice president of worldwide sales at InQuira, a provider of enterprise knowledge applications, where he established the company as a leader in knowledge management, resulting in the company’s acquisition by Oracle in 2011. Aitchison was responsible for increasing InQuira’s run rate by over 300%.

Prior to InQuira, Aitchison worked at Comergent, a provider of eBusiness software applications, where he quadrupled sales over a three year period which led to the acquisition of the company by Sterling Commerce. Preceding Comergent, Aitchison served as senior vice president of sales at webMethods. Aitchison earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona.
