Coupa Unifies Wacom Company's Global Spend Management
SAN MATEO, CA – March 8th, 2016 – Coupa Software, a leader in cloud-based spend management, announced today that Wacom Company Ltd. has unified its siloed spend management systems by bringing disparate applications under one umbrella with Coupa.
Headquartered in Tokyo, Japan with 1,300 employees located in more than 15 countries, Wacom deployed Coupa five months ago to gain better visibility into its worldwide corporate spend, to govern employee spending and to provide greater accuracy in spend tracking and forecasting.
“Coupa has proven to be an essential component in our global transformation to best-in-breed cloud vendors,” said Aaron Atkinson, executive vice president and chief information and operations officer at Wacom. “Now that we have the technology that allows us to track and manage our spend, we are able to set key performance indicators (KPIs) around cost-savings for the coming year.”
Wacom selected Coupa’s procurement solutions for its global capabilities, its integration with enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms and its simple, intuitive user interface. Specifically, Wacom cited Coupa’s cloud-based platform and ease-of-use as critical to its successful and rapid deployment to 450 of its employees located around the globe.
“We have employees that represent many different backgrounds and cultures, and we decided on Coupa because the training and graphic design of Coupa’s interface have been helpful in increasing user adoption across Wacom,” Atkinson said. “We looked at several vendors and the cloud was a key criteria for us. Coupa is 100 percent based in the cloud, making it easy for us to streamline our global operations in multiple countries.”
Atkinson said the six-month implementation process for Coupa was simpler and faster, despite involving far more users than with previous implementation projects. “We have only begun to leverage Coupa’s full capabilities,” added Atkinson.
Wacom brings people and technology closer together through natural interface technologies. It is the world’s leading manufacturer of pen tablets and creative pen displays, as well as digital styli and solutions for saving and processing digital signatures. Millions of people worldwide use the cordless, battery-free and pressure-sensitive digital pen technology to operate their smartphones, media tablets or desktop computers and to express their individual creativity.
“By deploying Coupa, Wacom is using one solution to streamline global control and visibility into how it is managing spend,” said Ravi Thakur, senior vice president of customer success and service delivery at Coupa. “Coupa provides Wacom with a full enterprise application set to help achieve success across the board.”
