Coupa’s Cloud Platform Fuels Toyota with Speed, Automation and Mobility

SAN MATEO, Calif.—June 13, 2013—Coupa Software, a leading provider of cloud-based spend optimization solutions for finance, today announced that Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. (TMS) has successfully processed over a half-billion dollars in spending through the Coupa platform. As a result, TMS has much better visibility into savings opportunities and has greatly streamlined its requisition to purchase order (P.O.) process.

TMS has 5,000 Coupa users across the United States serving a network of 2,000 suppliers.  Coupa’s cloud platform arms TMS users with speed, automation and mobility, increasing productivity and efficiency on a day-to-day basis.

Speed – Coupa reduced TMS’ average requisition to P.O. approval cycle from two weeks to one day.

Automation – Leveraging Coupa features like configurable approval rules and automated work flows, TMS successfully eliminated paper and manual processes.

Mobility – Using Coupa’s ability to run on any smartphone or tablet device, TMS eliminated the need for face-to-face approvals and adopted a mobile approval process.

“Some of the initial value that we have extracted from Coupa to date is around speed and efficiency,” said Karin Ruble, procurement national manager TMS. “The user feedback we’ve received has been tremendous and often unsolicited. Our team appreciates that they can work much faster, which has effectively improved our relationships with suppliers. This would not have been possible without Coupa.”

Coupa’s cloud-based service also made the application an appealing choice for TMS. Coupa was a natural fit as many of the other applications TMS currently uses are cloud-based.
