Grupo Bafar Expands Agreement with Coupa for AI-Driven Spend Insights and Enterprise Growth

Landmark LATAM ELA positions Grupo Bafar as a “First Implementer” of next-generation AI and autonomous spend capabilities.

CHIHUAHUA, MEXICO and FOSTER CITY, Calif. — March 3, 2026 — Coupa, the leading AI-native autonomous spend management platform, today announced an expanded relationship with Grupo Bafar, one of Mexico’s leading food companies with a growing presence across Latin America. The new agreement marks a first-of-its-kind, major Enterprise License Agreement (ELA) for Coupa in Latin America, underscoring a shared commitment to innovation and ongoing digital transformation in the region.

Through the expanded relationship, Grupo Bafar is continuing to standardize and scale its use of Coupa’s autonomous spend platform and community data insights to automate and support financial visibility, operational efficiency, and disciplined growth across a multi-company organization.

“Grupo Bafar is a great example of how our leading, AI-native platform can bring consistency and discipline to spend at scale. They are gaining the benefits of Coupa Agentic AI via Navi, leveraging $9.5 trillion in community-based intelligence data, to gain better insights and increase automation across procurement and finance,” said John Frank, Chief Customer Officer at Coupa. “This agreement reflects the level of trust required to support an enterprise engagement of this scope, and we’re proud to help them gain spend confidence across a complex, multi-entity business.”

“Coupa gives us the clarity and speed we need to operate effectively across our organization,” said Luis Eduardo Ramírez Herrera, Chief Financial Officer at Grupo Bafar. “This expanded agreement reflects our long-term commitment to building a data-driven, AI-enabled enterprise. Real-time visibility and automation across our spend ecosystem allow us to strengthen financial discipline, accelerate decision-making, and strategically allocate capital to support sustained growth.”

With more than 40 operating companies and a highly diversified business spanning food production, retail, real estate, financial services and agro business, Grupo Bafar sought a more unified and scalable approach to managing spend. Years ago, the organization embarked on a journey to automate and digitalize all of its processes, while building a robust data lake to harness the full potential of AI. Within this framework, Coupa serves as a fundamental pillar of Grupo Bafar’s technological and operational architecture.

Since expanding its use of Coupa, Grupo Bafar can now approve invoices in one day or faster because they manage 100% of enterprise spend and travel expenses in one autonomous spend management platform. They increased visibility and initiated faster payments to suppliers, who now have instant access to their purchase orders and invoices in one place. With Coupa, Grupo Bafar can move quickly with confidence.
