Coupa Hires Global Business Software Executive Steve Winter as Chief Revenue Officer

SAN MATEO, CA – September 7, 2016 – Coupa Software, a leader in cloud-based spend management, has announced that global business software executive Steve Winter has joined Coupa as its Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Winter brings with him more than two decades of operations, sales management and organizational development experience from some of the largest and most successful software organizations in the world.

Most recently, Winter served as executive vice president of Worldwide Field Operations at Marketo and before that was the global head of SAP’s Emerging Solutions organization. As CRO at Coupa, Winter is responsible for driving better integration and alignment of all revenue-connected aspects of the business which includes sales and marketing. He will be the leader and architect of the overall revenue strategy at Coupa.

During Winter’s nine years at SAP, he held several leadership roles including head of its global Emerging Solutions unit, Managing Director, United Kingdom and Ireland, as well as serving as the Chief Operating Officer for SAP North America and executive vice president of sales North America.

Prior to SAP, Winter was a founding partner of Sagebrook Technology Partners, where he focused on investment portfolio management, technology acquisitions and organizational development. Earlier in his career, Winter spent 12 years at PeopleSoft, where he held various executive sales management roles, including vice president and general manager of the company’s Midwest region.
